1. What kind of professional services firms do you recuit for?
We work with a range of firms including Legal, Accountancy, Surveying, Architectural, Management Consultancies through to professional bodies operating within the profession. Many of the firms operate in a partnership structure which means that they are owned by any number of partners, who are all own a stake in the business. Hence one of the most aspects for any marketer is gaining buy-in internally form multiple, senior stakeholders. Those PS firms that are not partnerships still work in a very consensus driven, decision-making way.
2. How much experience do you have recruiting in this arena?
Our Consultants have spent their whole careers recruiting in this area. Starting in the mid-nineties, they were at the very forefront of recruiting for PS firms just when marketing (as it was more commonly termed then) took off. Many of our consultants' client relationships were initiated almost 20 years ago and have continued to strengthen over time.
3. How long will it take for me to find a role?
How long is a piece of string? This depends on a number of factors such as current market place, time of year, other candidates looking or clients workload. One aspect to always take into account is that you will very likely need to be interviewed by one or more partners (or senior internal stakeholders) at some stage during the process. Very often this can slow a process because of their limited availability but we Leighton Taylor will work very hard on your behalf to ensure things are not delayed unduly.
4. What are the primary aspects that firms are testing during the interview process?
The main reason why clients very often include a number of stages to an interview process is to ensure that not only the skillsets are correct but the culture fit is absolutely correct as well. On a very basic level, firms will want to see how you will react and operate with various senior level people and (depending on the level) how quickly you can make a difference.
5. Do candidates pay you?
Surprisingly this is a question that is asked, but no they don't. We are only paid by a client on the successful appointment of an individual.
